Marge holding a baby This Website is for all Newbies with a desire to learn more about the wonderful magical art of Soap Making. My name is Marge Robbins and I am currently an avid soaper hobbyist who loves to experiment. And therein lies a tale. I spent over a year working as a webmaster for my sister, who for a time, was working soaping as a business. That did not go very well. However, it did get me interested in becoming a soaper myself. After a few months making pretty things with Melt and Pour I got a desire to attempt lye soap, but was finding the whole process rather confusing, until I met Anne Watson that is. I had been lurking on a soapers' group, where her book Smart Soapmaking was highly recommended by many people. So I ordered it and voila! All of a sudden things started to make sense. I asked her a few questions, which she graciously answered, poured my first batch of soap. The rest as they say is history. Now I am hopelessly hooked. Anne took our conversation to email and has been my friend and mentor ever since that day. In fact it was she that suggested I start keeping a soap journal.. And so here we are.. In my blog, below you will find an account of my adventures and misadventures on the trail to learning to soap, starting with the Great Chocolate Search.
